This Quilt Coat using the Nova Coat Pattern
The quilt I used was mass produced, probably from Kmart or something similar. I am afraid to cut up antique quilts. The quality wasn’t great but I’m really pleased with the way it turned out.
Something I watched
The Tragedy of Macbeth. I watched this because I thought I should. I haven’t read Shakespeare since highschool, and I had been thinking I want to experience Shakespeare just for cultural literacy. I have zero interest in reading it because it feels like too much and also it’s supposed to be experienced as a play. So I watch Denzel Washington as Macbeth, the first 10 minutes I was kind of confused trying to decifer all the language and what was going on but then I just settled in and went along for the ride. It was so good. I was shocked by how much I liked it. Five stars. I think I want to slowly make my way through this list of film adaptations of Shakespeare.
Something I Read
I get my books from the library, so I’m usually a year or so behind on whatever everyone else is reading. I just finished The Sea of Tranquility and enjoyed it. Time travel! Pandemics! Space Colonization! It had all the things.
I’m so glad you’re here. If you liked this feel free to send it to a friend. Also do you have a newsletter? Or a favorite newsletter? Let me know I’d love to follow along.
Emily St. John Mandel is one of my very favorite authors. I read a lot and am picky, and also very indecisive and highly critical, so I think that says something. I love that you mentioned her book.
Have you made a quilt? That’s seems like a thing you’d do.
