Things Worth Sharing
Elliott turned 11 this week, and he somehow got a week off of school for this wacky snowstorm. We’re all going stir crazy. My brain is fried. Here are some rabbit holes to go down if you’re stuck inside too.
We got Elliott tickets to see magician Justin Willman for his birthday gift. His special Magic Lover on Netflix is a great family watch.
Other kid entertaining ideas. Let them make that box of brownie mix you have in the cupboard or break out the art supplies and let them make something while they have the TV or podcast on in the background.

I like to check in with Anne Lamott in times like these.
This newsletter from The Rose Period is a treasure trove. The title is Your 2026 Art Education Starts Here. I’m bookmarking everything she mentions.
Also adding Lin-Manuel Miranda’s book on creativity to my TBR list.
We come upon unhoused folks on a near daily basis where we live and I am someone who is haunted by the story of the good samaritan. I came upon this community resource page at our library, and decided I’d print out a bunch and put them in bags with a snack and bottle of water. Just trying at the very least look these folks in the eye and try to connect them to resources.
Falling deeply in love with the art of Szilveszter Makó. Lordy, his recent photo shoots with Elle Fanning and Rama Duwaji reminded me of all the things I love about art. The handmade elements and surreal folk art feelings they evoke are just chef’s kiss. I loved this interview with him (when I read it you didn’t need an account, but I think it’s worth signing up for if you like his work). In it he mentions his autism and conservative upbringing in Hungary and how these iconic images he created were inspired by a childhood photograph he had of himself with a cardboard house on his head.
Wikiflix is a new to me archive of old free films.
Peeping vintage Ikea on Etsy and new Ikea.
Thinking about what I’d add to an analogue bag.
Wishing I had a pair of these during this past snowstorm. Made in Ukraine fleece boot liners.
Chicken Recipe inspiration.
That’s all I’ve got folks.
