Elliott’s out of school for the Summer and my main Summer objective is to enjoy him. Ten is such a fun age and I feel like this is going to be a great season. I want to go to waterparks and roller coasters! I want slow mornings! I want to swim whenever we can, and read on the sofa like sloths. I want to have epic Mario Cart family races and popcorn on movie night. I want kids knocking on our doors to come and play! I want to enjoy the city and all the fun things it has on offer. I’m really looking forward to it.
One thing we’ve been enjoying is getting deep into Pom Pom making. We started just using our hands to wrap the yarn around with some googly eyes and yarn we had lying around the house. That was super fun. Then we fell down the YouTube pom pom rabbit hole and took a trip to Michaels for pom pom makers and more yarn.

Elliott also made up this fun game where he adds a bunch of nouns to one wheel and artistic styles to another wheel on the wheel of names then we spin it and see what we need to draw. It reminds me of Carson Ellis’s Transmundane Tuesday game.
Loved this article on making art as a family inspired by Ruth Asawa who had 6! kids.
I have tried to be a sourdough person, but I am decidedly not one. Basically my family doesn’t care about bread and I’d rather not eat a loaf every week by myself. I do however love making focaccia and no knead bread when I’m in the mood for some low stakes baking.
Also this bread hat.
I want to make all the icebox cakes, especially this lime cracker pie. (LOW STAKES DESSERT!)
OBSESSED with this super cute shop that sells stuffed animal embroidery kits.
Ikea has some great 100% cotton fabrics this season.
I posted this in my last e-mail, but it’s still my favorite.
Ok that’s all.
