I’m finishing up the last painting in a series for my friend’s office space. They were all celebrating fanciful weeds that we see everyday but may not appreciate. They featured dandelions, morning glories, and this last one was of fleabane with cabbage white butterflies hovering over it. I’m so excited about how they turned out!
I’m taking Abby K Brown’s advice and heading to Lowes tomorrow to buy some masonite board and having it cut down into 8x10 and 8x8 pieces to paint on! Masonite is inexpensive, sturdy, and easy to ship. So get ready for a boatload of paintings coming your way.
I stumbled across Sandi Hester’s YouTube channel and I am in love with her folksy fun artwork. There’s a lot of great info on there. I am also going to add one of her online painting classes to my wishlist.
I just found out that Northern Exposure is streaming on Prime, it was my Mom’s favorite show when I was growing up. I don’t remember much about the show, so it will be fun to watch for the sort of first time and remember her.
Her favorite movie was What About Bob, maybe I should watch that on Mother’s day? I love What About Bob. Just go watch the trailer and try not to laugh.
I listened to this interview on Wiser Than Me podcast with Ina Garten and it made me excited for her biography that’s coming out in the fall. I love Ina and still have a few T-shirts I designed for sale celebrating her.
I’m wearing this blue gauze dress I bought at target and it’s so great with some bike shorts underneath. I think I’ll be living in it this summer. It’s also on sale for $22.
Since I’ve been painting more I’m getting more into audiobooks. Podcasts are just not long enough when you’re painting all day! I listened to None of This is True on Libby and boy oh boy it was a wild ride. The narration is excellent! It’s a psychological thriller about a woman who finds herself the subject of her own popular true crime podcast. It keeps you guessing until the end. I got this recommendation from Bailey on the mother daughter Soul and Wit podcast. Any other great audiobook recommendations? Send them my way!
I know I’m not alone in browsing real estate listings as a way to relax, but have you tried browsing google flights? You can list your departing airport and have the destination set to anywhere then leave your dates blank and it will tell you cheap-ish flights in the next six months. And then I end up dreaming up different itineraries. I haven’t pulled the trigger on a flight yet, but it scratches the same itch that real estate perusing does.

Love all of this Haley! Recently, I was with my girls trying to find a movie on hbo and Ina Garten’s picture came up w her cooking show - Aurora immediately gasped and said it’s the lady Haley painted on your shirt Mom!! She doesn’t know her name, she just recognized her and I thought that was so funny and great 😊
