All the Things
Hi Friends,
Happy mid November. I hope you’re getting your fill of fall, enjoying the leaves changing colors, maybe making a fire pit or some warm cozy dinners. I have a bunch of things to update you on!
First! I opened up some commissioned spots for portraits in profile. You don’t have to be wearing a fancy collar, I can draw you wearing whatever you would like. I love the feeling of these traditional portraits. They are $75 and include an 8”x10” print as well as the digital file. You can see the listing here.
I also added a few cheap and cheerful prints to my shop that make me really happy. They are $15 and that price includes shipping. I’m hoping to add a couple more prints, but they are larger and I need to invest in some larger shipping supplies.
Other Things
I just finished reading the novel Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow. I really loved it. It was about friendship, creative partnership, and video games. I’ve mentioned on social media before that my husband and son love video games which has gotten me at least video game curious. We like to play Moving Out and Cake Bash together as a family and it really is a lot of fun. I also read this article on “cozy games” which is a genre that sounds appealing to me. One of the games mentioned is about a woman who quits her corporate job and becomes a mail carrier in the pacific northwest. lol. This game speaks to me.
I made this chicken pot pie this week and it really hit all the cozy notes.
On the business side of things I think it’s important to not keep secrets and share tools that you love in case it will help someone else. My favorite thing I bought this week was a pack of these templates where you drop in your artwork and they create these beautiful product shots for you. My house is small and messy and creating product photos isn’t how I want to spend all my time, so these were so helpful. I hope they make one zillion dollars on this helpful product.
That’s all I think. I’m so happy you’re here.
